NCCCA is currently restoring the historic Strand Theater in downtown Plattsburgh. Just across the street from the home of NCCCA, The Strand has been a cultural landmark for generations of North Country residents.
"Built in 1924 as the premier theatre of Plattsburgh, NY, the Strand lived up to its name. Silent movies were presented at 10 cents with the Strand orchestra providing accompaniment. In 2004, the North Country Cultural Center for the Arts purchased the building, and it is now beginning a $4-million fund-raising effort to restore the theatre as a performing arts center, including the installation of a 1924 Wurlitzer organ."For more information regarding the Strand, contact the NCCCA at (518) 563-1604 or email ncccastrand@primelink1.net. |

SEAT SPONSORSHIPS Where will you be seated on opening night? Show your support of the local community and the arts by sponsoring a seat at The Strand! The Strand Theatre restoration is expected to be completed in late 2009, housing approximately one thousand seats for its patrons. Each seat will include a lovely engraved plaque affixed to the back to commemorate your support (up to three lines of text.) Seat sponsorships range in price from $150 per seat (Upper Balcony) to $500 per seat (Front Orchestra.) A limited number of seats remain, so don't hesitate!
