JULY 2008
We've entered mid-summer, a time to celebrate our country's independence, enjoy the beauty of our North Country surroundings -- and of course -- have some fun at the North Country Cultural Center for the Arts!
On July 5th, we invite you to attend the opening reception of NCCCA Board Member, and talented artist, S. Booker. This is Booker's final exhibition and we are very proud to be hosting his "Finale." Join us through July 26th and enjoy his creative talents!
ArtQuest Adventures 2008 kicks off on July 7th and runs for six consecutive weeks, offering great fun and crafty projects for children ages 6 - 14. Scholarships are available for those who qualify, so don't hesitate... inquire about registration today! Call Colleen at 518.563.1604 for more information.
The NCCCA is proud to be working with the City of Plattsburgh on the 2008 Mayor's Cup Festival. Festival buttons are on sale now at the NCCCA for $10 each, and afford you entry and discounts to many festival activities. Join us on July 10th & 11th on Brinkerhoff, as we close off the street to host the Artisan Fair and Kids' Activities! We will have dance performances, sidewalk art, face painting, games and more!
On July 19th you won't want to miss the orchestral sounds of the Lake Placid Sinfonietta. For one night only, the Sinfonietta will be performing in Plattsburgh at the beautiful St. Peter's Cathedral on Cornelia Street. Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased at the NCCCA.
Finally, from July 29th through August 2nd, the NCCCA is partnering with SUNY Plattsburgh to host events for the International Haiku Conference & Festival. This annual event is being held for the first-time in North America right here in Plattsburgh! Interact with well-known poets from around the globe, listen to their works and enjoy learning more about the artform of haiku.
We hope your Summer is filled with fun, arts & culture! Be sure to include the Gallery as a part of your families activities this season.
